Recently I was repainting my nails and decided that I would try out a couple of new colors to see what would be the best for winter! (Keep in mind I am a nurse and must keep my nails appropriate, in color and length, for work).
First color and my favorite: Essie Marshmellow. This color is a beautiful pure white which looked surprisingly good next to my fair skin. I thought that I would kick it up a notch by adding silver sparkles (Sinful Colors 923). This created what I am calling my “snowfall” look! Amazing! And bonus it looks good with almost every outfit!
Second: Essie Nothing Else Metals. This is a metallic silver/hint of purple. It blends great with everything, and I liked how it looked on my toes too!!
Third: OPI The Spy Who Loved Me. This was part of the James Bond Collection that OPI put out last year. It is a very Christmas red with a little bit of sparkle that would look great with any cocktail attire! To complement this you could do an accent nail in OPI Goldeneye. Like you might guess, this is gold sparkles!
And finally: OPI Lourve Me Lourve Me Not. This is a beautiful deep purple that just plainly looks great!
So now that we have discussed color, what can you do to make them last? Well good color looks great on strong nails. As a nail strengthener/base coat, I use OPI Nail Envy (Dry and Brittle). This makes my nails so much stronger than they naturally are, I definitely see improvement since I have started using this! As a top coat I have two suggestions for you! The first is OPI Top Coat and the second is Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear. I have found this one pretty chip resistant!
I know that a lot of my suggestions for fall are OPI and Essie, but these two companies make good quality, lasting nail polish. If you don’t want to spend so much money Sally Hansen Insta Dri is awesome (and they makes fantastic summer colors)!
